This page documents all feature enhancements and bug fixes included in the Super Get Info 1.1 update.
Additions/Enhancements
-
Super Get Info is now serialized; there are no longer separate demo and full versions of the application.
The first time you run Super Get Info 1.1, you will be prompted to enter your product serial number. Once you have entered the serial number, this dialog will no longer appear and you can use Super Get Info freely. (All currently registered customers have been sent product serial numbers via email.)
If you have not yet purchased the product and thus do not have a serial number, you can dismiss the dialog by clicking the Demo button. Super Get Info will then operate with full functionality for 30 days, after which you must purchase the product and receive a serial number in order to continue using it.
The user manual is now embedded in the application bundle and available from the help menu. On the initial launch of a new version, you will be asked if you'd like to view the online help or user manual.
Image and Movie previews now supply a tooltip if you hover over them that give you additional meta-data about the preview.

Improved recursive permissions. When applying recursive permissions you can now specify different sets of permissions for application to folders and files. When applying recursive permissions, you can also specify that the chosen permissions be set, add or removed.
Control or right-clicking in the group box for the File or Folder permissions now reveals a contextual menu for quickly performing certain manipulations on the associated permission checkboxes.
Super Get Info now provides an "Open File..." Services menu item, which can be used in any app that supports Services when you can select text containing a full path to a file or folder.
Preview will now preview Internet Explorer .url files.
The contextual menu module now auto-configures for TextWrangler.
The installation tab in the Preferences now knows if your installed 'sgi' tool or contextual menu plugin is up to date and tells you so and disabled the install button. If you remove either of these items while Super Get Info is running, you will have to quit and relaunch the application in order for the Installation options to update.
Changed the window stacking algorithm. Previously we calculated the number of stacks of windows that would fit on the screen using the fixed assumption that each stack can contain up to 5 windows. This meant that you needed a screen roughly 1200 pixels tall to fit two rows of windows. The logic has been changed so that we prefer to tile as many windows on the screen as we can (only requiring that 1 window fit in any given stack) and then distribute the leftover space to put up to 5 windows in each pile as necessary. You can now get two rows of info windows on a screen that is "as little" as 1024 pixels tall.
Super Get Info Helper is able to better find the Super Get Info application even when Launch Services doesn't know where it is.
Fixes
-
When updating to a newer version of Super Get Info, you cannot replace the original application if the keystroke helper application is running (the Finder won't let you). So to do the upgrade, you have to move the old application to the Trash, and copy the new one to /Applications (or wherever). But once you launch it you will have two keystroke helpers running.
Now before launching the embedded keystroke helper application, SGI will quit any "extra" keystroke helpers that happen to be running to avoid this problem.
Fixed a problem which could cause the app to have no active windows after opening the Finder selection in certain situations.
Super Get Info makes better use of large displays when arranging info windows.
Arranging windows is now atomic with respect to screen updates.
Worked around the bug in AppKit which causes PDF movie previews to work incorrectly on Jaguar.
The clipboard button in the info window has the correct background when tracking now.
The Super Get Info Finder keystroke shortcut can now be used to get info on files that are inside a package.
Opening a file/node (like /dev) which is unreadable in Super Get Info now reports an error rather leaving a garbage window on the screen.
When running on 10.2, the Super Get Info Finder keystroke shortcut can now be used to get info on files that reside on an SMB volume.
vcard preview display is improved, and better handles vcards generated by the 10.2 address book.
Fixed a bug where on resume we were bringing all windows forward rather than just those which had their changes discarded because they were changed externally.
When the Finder reports an empty selection, Super Get Info will now advise you accordingly. This can happen on OS X 10.2 when you have a single folder or disk selected while in Column view.
Fixed a bug where automatic resizing of some of the captions in the top half of the info pane was confused and led to strange things happening for disks/folders (some of the caption text wasn't selectable, some information was truncated).
