Who is Eligible for a Free Upgrade to BBEdit 8.7?
If you purchased BBEdit 8.2 on or after January 1, 2006, you are eligible to receive an upgrade to BBEdit 8.7 free of charge.
If you believe you are eligible for a free upgrade, and you purchased BBEdit 8.2 directly from Bare Bones Software, but did not receive email notification, please contact our Sales Department for assistance.
If you purchased BBEdit from a reseller during the eligibility period, please follow the steps below to take advantage of this offer. We will process free upgrade requests on a first-come first-served basis.
- Fax your dated proof of purchase receipt to us at (781) 687-0711.
- Include your product serial number (which can be found on the CD jewel case).
- Include your complete contact information, including the address you want the product registered to and your email address. Please note that we will not be able to send you your free upgrade if you do not include your email address.
Please also note that you can download the BBEdit 8.7 demo to use until your new product serial number(s) arrives. You can then use the serial number to activate the demo.
Paid Upgrades
If you have any registered commercial version of BBEdit prior to 8.0, or you have a registered copy of BBEdit 8.0 thru 8.2.6 which you purchased outside of the eligibility period, you may purchase an upgrade.
