Bare Bones Software Releases Yojimbo 4.0
Supports Service for Transparent Synchronization Between Macs, Adds Full Screen Support, Now Optimized for Retina Displays

NORTH CHELMSFORD, Mass. – August 14, 2013 – Bare Bones Software today announced the release and immediate availability of Yojimbo™ 4.0, the effortless information organizer for Mac OS X.

Yojimbo 4.0 introduces support for a new sync service that provides silent, transparent data synchronization across multiple Macs for service subscribers. This feature grants data portability, making irrelevant which computer was used to access, add or modify any item stored in Yojimbo. Any Yojimbo customer who wishes to use this sync service may subscribe directly within the application. In addition, Yojimbo 4.0 adds full screen support for the main Yojimbo window and for information item windows, along with updates for improved appearance on Retina displays.

“We designed Yojimbo with an intense focus on providing an effortless user experience, so that it stays out of your way and yet remains at your fingertips,” said Rich Siegel, founder and CEO of Bare Bones Software, Inc. “The synchronization support in version 4.0 fits perfectly within that focus, working tirelessly in the background to keep your Yojimbo data close at hand, no matter which of your Macs you are using.”

Yojimbo 4.0 requires Mac OS X 10.8.2 or later. Detailed information on the new features and changes in Yojimbo 4.0 can be found at:

Yojimbo Organizes ‘Everything Else’

Yojimbo empowers Mac users to manage, effortlessly and securely, the onslaught of information encountered every day, even across multiple computers. Yojimbo stores rich text notes, passwords, bookmarks, serial numbers, PDFs, images, and web archives.

Gathering information is easy through familiar Mac interface gestures, Yojimbo’s own Quick Input Panel and Save PDF to Yojimbo commands, and it can encrypt stored data using the secure AES-256 algorithm standard. Yojimbo’s tagging system empowers simple personal organization, and information retrieval is instantaneous through its built-in search or Spotlight.

Support for an optional, subscription-based sync service allows users with multiple Macs to silently and transparently exchange data between computers (subscription sold separately).

Yojimbo can also directly synchronize data via WiFi from one Mac to Yojimbo for iPad (sold separately), including encrypted items and tags.

Yojimbo 4.0 requires Mac OS X 10.8.2 or later. For more information on Yojimbo, or to download a fully functional demo version, visit the company’s web site:
