Bare Bones Software Releases Yojimbo 4.5
Syncing Moves to iCloud, Modernized for Touch ID, Dark and Light mode

NORTH CHELMSFORD, Mass. – June 24, 2020 – Bare Bones Software today announced the release and immediate availability of Yojimbo™ 4.5, a significant update to the popular, easy-to-use information organizer.

Yojimbo 4.5 now uses Apple’s iCloud service to sync data among multiple Macs. In addition, this new version 4.5 update introduces support for Touch ID authentication for access to Yojimbo items within the application, and improved support for Dark Mode when running on macOS 10.14 Mojave and later.

The new support for Touch ID provides an alternative to password entry where possible, such as when encrypting or decrypting stored data. Support for macOS Dark Mode includes an improved application appearance, plus the ability to manually format notes for easier reading based on the prevailing system appearance. The new built-in command for creating an on-computer backup of the customer’s local Yojimbo data provides an extra measure of data protection.

Yojimbo 4.5 now uses Apple’s iCloud services to sync data among multiple Macs that are signed into the same iCloud account. Synchronized data is stored on Apple’s servers, and syncing occurs automatically as changes are made within Yojimbo.

“This update modernizes Yojimbo in ways that make sense,” said Rich Siegel, founder and CEO of Bare Bones Software, Inc. “Our goal for Yojimbo as a digital ‘shoebox’ application is to keep it useful without adding bloat. Yojimbo enjoys a reputation for staying out of your way, while remaining helpful and ready at hand. This update succeeds at achieving that delicate balance, while keeping Yojimbo rock solid and true to itself.”

Yojimbo 4.5 also includes enhancements and refinements to existing features, and fixes for specific reported issues, and is a recommended and free update to all registered customers with Yojimbo 4 whose machines meet the system requirements.

Yojimbo 4.5 requires macOS 10.13.6 or later. Detailed information on all of the changes in Yojimbo 4.5 can be found at:
