BBEdit 14 Free Upgrade Eligibility

If you purchased BBEdit 13 on or after January 1, 2021, you are eligible to receive an upgrade to BBEdit 14 free of charge.

All eligible customers who purchased BBEdit 13 directly from Bare Bones Software on or after January 1, 2021 (including orders fulfilled by FastSpring) have automatically been sent free upgrades via email to the address used in their order on or before July 23, 2021.

If you are eligible but did not receive a free upgrade notice, please first check your “junk” or “spam” mailbox; if you cannot find the notice, please contact our Sales Department for assistance.

Eligible customers who purchased through a reseller or via other means should contact our Sales Department for assistance.

If you purchased BBEdit from a reseller on or after January 1, 2021, please follow the steps below to take advantage of this offer. (Note Orders fulfilled by FastSpring are direct purchases.)

We will process free upgrade requests on a first-come first-served basis.

1. Email us a copy (or a scan or screenshot) of your dated purchase receipt.
   
   
2. Include your existing BBEdit product serial number.
   
   
3. Include your complete contact information, including the address you want the product registered to and your email address. Please note that we will not be able to send you your free upgrade if you do not include your email address. The information that you provide is protected by our Privacy Policy.

Please also note that you can download BBEdit 14 to use until your new product serial number(s) arrives. You can then use the serial number to activate BBEdit.

Paid Upgrades

If you have any licensed version of BBEdit prior to 13.0, or you have a licensed copy of BBEdit 13 which you purchased prior to the eligibility period, you may purchase an upgrade.
