First Update to the Recently Released Major New Version
NORTH CHELMSFORD, Mass. – August 31, 2021 – Bare Bones Software today announced the release and immediate availability of BBEdit® 14.0.1, the first maintenance update to the recently released major new version of its professional strength HTML and text editor.
BBEdit 14.0.1 builds on a new, major release foundation that presents more than 100 new features, changes and improvements; most of which are designed to enhance the productivity of web developers, desktop and mobile software developers, data scientists, and anyone producing or editing Markdown documents.
BBEdit 14 introduced a Notes system; the ability to integrate Anaconda environments; new built-in support for syntax coloring and function navigation for source files written in R, Go, Rust, TOML, Arduino, Pixar Universal Scene Description (USD) and Lisp-family languages; plus enables significantly enhanced code completion, error checking, interactive help and code navigation when using new support for Microsoft’s Language Server Protocol (LSP).

BBEdit 14.0.1 includes fixes for specific reported issues, and is a recommended and free update to all registered customers with BBEdit 14.
BBEdit offers a generous evaluation model in which its full feature set is available for the first 30 days of use. At the end of the 30-day evaluation period, BBEdit will continue to run with a permanent feature set which includes its powerful editing capabilities, but not its web authoring tools or other exclusive features. BBEdit’s exclusive features may be re-enabled at any time with a purchased license. BBEdit 14 offers a fresh 30-day evaluation to everyone.
